Overview

Bryan joined SS+D in February 2014 as a member of the Litigation Department. He is now a shareholder in the firm and has quickly risen to become one of the firm’s most valuable and essential assets. Bryan is the Chair of SS+D’s Criminal Defense Litigation Group and the Family Law Litigation Group. Bryan consistently has been recognized as one of the top trial lawyers in the State of Ohio, advocating vigorously and achieving remarkable success for his clients. Bryan is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Dayton School of Law, a former semi-professional football player, and a veteran of the Armed Forces Reserve Ohio Army National Guard.

Professional Experience / Focus Areas

Bryan primarily focuses his litigation practice on Criminal Defense, Family Law, and Civil Litigation. Regardless of the case, Bryan prides himself on making sure his client’s voice is heard by the Court in seeking justice.

Bryan’s criminal practice area focuses on defending those accused of a serious criminal offense, as well as misdemeanors and OVIs. He also defends those accused of major federal offenses involving, among other things, Racketeering Influenced Corrupt Organizations (“RICO”), Money Laundering, Trafficking, and Conspiracy.

Bryan’s family law practice focuses on Divorce and Dissolution including High Asset Divorce, Military Divorce, and those that involve family-held business interests. Bryan also helps his clients obtain child custody, child support, spousal support, and an equitable division of assets and liabilities.

Bryan’s civil litigation practice includes complex litigation actions, general contract disputes, personal injury, and general civil claims. He is also involved with federal civil litigation involving Civil Rights and U.S.C. § 1983 violations. Bryan also has been involved in successfully litigating an administrative action with the Securities and Exchange Commission in New York. He has represented major corporations such as UPS and Marlin Firearms as well as many smaller and family-owned businesses.

Personal

Bryan is a proud Dayton native and was a very proud member of the Armed Forces Reserve Ohio Army National Guard, 2/107th Cavalry Division, from 1992 through 2000. While in the reserves, Bryan spent some time in Panama, C.A., earning a field-grade promotion for exemplary service in the field. Bryan graduated from the University of Dayton’s School of Law in 1999 where he was the President of the Criminal Law Association. Bryan also played Semi-pro football with the Dayton Steelers and the Dayton Cowboys.
