Overview

Nick is a Shareholder in the Corporate Department and also in charge of Recruiting at SS+D. He was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 2010 and joined the firm in February 2011. Nick has a broad-based transactional legal practice with management responsibility in corporate, commercial, non-profit, employment, real estate, soft intellectual property, financing, securities, and economic development areas of practice.

Professional Experience / Focus Areas

Nick serves as outside corporate counsel, advising clients on corporate governance matters as well as drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements, including formation, confidentiality, supply/manufacturing, services, licensing, financing, joint venture, employment, independent contractor, severance, settlement, and many others. Nick also serves as general counsel for a globally-accredited certification body for quality, environmental, health and safety, and food safety management systems.

Nick represents clients in a variety of complex commercial real estate purchase, leasing and subleasing matters. He also does extensive work with local economic development agencies on transportation and other infrastructure-related initiatives. Nick has extensive experience representing clients in mergers and acquisitions, with deal consideration ranging from $150,000 to over $100,000,000.

Personal

When not working, he loves being outdoors, playing golf and softball, cooking, and spending time with his family. Nick grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Cincinnati, Ohio, and received his B.A. in political science and history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2006. He received his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 2010. He is proud to be a member of the Dayton legal community and is grateful to have had the opportunity to serve the public through the Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyer’s Project. He is also a Director of Kids in Need Foundation, a Director of Ronald McDonald House Charities Dayton, an Associate Director of Wright-Patt Credit Union, and serves as a member of the Budget Review Committee and Board of Zoning Appeals for City of Oakwood, Ohio.
