Overview

Nathan is an associate in SS+D’s Litigation Department. His practice encompasses a wide array of commercial and civil litigation matters. Nathan views each and every matter as his priority, serving clients with relentless rigor, creative insight, and personal attentiveness.

Nathan joined the firm as a Summer Associate in 2023, and he served as a part-time Law Clerk from 2023 to 2024 before returning full-time in 2024 after finishing law school. Nathan is admitted to the Bar in Ohio.

Professional Experience/Focus Areas

A longtime Daytonian, Nathan was raised in Centerville and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Dayton in 2021. At UD, he learned to combine a business-and-strategy-focused mindset with outside-the box creativity, earning both a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance.

Nathan graduated cum laude from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2024. During law school, he was a Managing Editor of the Ohio State Journal of Criminal Law and was awarded the Ernest Karam Book Award for legal writing. Nathan served as a research assistant to Professor Ric Simmons, assisting with his publication of Private Criminal Justice: How Private Parties are Enforcing Criminal Law and Transforming Our Justice System (Cambridge University Press, 2023). He also completed an independent study in state and local taxation with Professor Barton Hubbard in 2024. Nathan was a member of the 2022 cohorts of the Moritz Legislation Clinic and Moritz Washington, D.C. Program.

Prior to joining SS+D, Nathan gained a breadth of legal experience as a Law Clerk for the Ohio Attorney General’s Policy and Legislation Section from 2022 to 2023 and a Law Clerk for the U.S. Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee (HSGAC) in 2022.

Personal

Nathan enjoys hiking, reading, cooking, and exploring historic churches with his wife, Rachel. Nathan is an active classical and jazz trombonist in the Dayton area and is involved with numerous local organizations, including the Dayton Catholic Lawyers Guild and Oakwood Rotary Club. Nathan and Rachel are also co-catechists at a local parish.
